Despite efforts from state and local politicians to make Los Angeles hell for law-abiding gun owners, one victim of a crime was able to defend himself successfully on Friday. According to ABC 7, three men who attempted to rob a taco stand on the city’s south side were met with armed resistance. An employee ended up drawing his firearm and shooting one of the suspects, while the other two fled the scene.

The wounded suspect was transported to a local hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. Few details were available on the armed citizen, who was described as cooperating with investigators.
