Teen Accused Of Shooting Officer Had Long Rap Sheet

posted on November 4, 2017

In New Jersey, 19-year-old alleged gang member Delronn Mahan is accused of shooting a police officer. But the big question is, why was Mahan out on the streets in the first place?

NJ.com reports that the young man charged with attempted murder for the attack on Camden County Police Officer Patrick O’Hanlon has an extensive arrest record as an adult—even though he has only been an adult for a year and a half. He is on probation following convictions for drug distribution, burglary and receiving stolen property.

“He’s a bad guy,” said Police Chief J. Scott Thomson. “Last night I think was his tenth arrest since he’s 18 years old.” Fortunately, Officer O’Hanlon survived the encounter and is recovering nicely—no thanks to our broken justice system.
