Texas Passes “Right To Hunt And Fish” Amendment

posted on November 5, 2015

In what can only be described as a landslide (more than 81 percent), Texans on Tuesday added a “Right to Hunt and Fish” amendment to their state constitution. Eighteen other states have provisions that run along similar lines to preserve the right to hunt, fish or otherwise harvest wildlife, and four others have partial protections that are not actual amendments. The additions to the state charter also codify (public) hunting and fishing as the preferred methods for wildlife management.

If this draws a “huh,” consider that anti-hunting and animal rights groups have long sought to hamstring hunting for their own obvious purposes, but with anti-gunners quietly cheering in the background: Any attack or sabotage on the justifications for firearms ownership suits them fine, of course.

Just one more example of why you shouldn’t mess with Texas.
