On April 19, Chicago PD correctly and proudly tweeted a successful drug bust with a picture of “weapons and drugs recovered.” The only problem was that the weapons pictured were a 19th-century triggerless percussion revolver and a cheesy-looking .25 ACP.

The Twitterati had a field day. Witty to say the least, but also with a surprisingly historical—if jaundiced—eye: “Did they have time travel? BC some of those guns … lol”; “Chicago PD out there catching Billy the Kid and what not”; “I didn’t know Wyatt Earp lived in the 10th District”; and “I really hope you let them walk ten paces first” among others.

Our favorite? “Everyone is safe. Aaron Burr is in custody.”
