Uber Driver Fights Off Armed Robber

posted on December 19, 2016

A Florida Uber driver who was licensed to carry a concealed firearm used his gun to protect himself and a passenger from an armed robbery.

According to local media reports, a van cut off the Miami Uber driver on the William Lehman Causeway on Sunday morning. After coming to a stop, a man jumped out of the Dodge with two handguns drawn in an attempt to rob the Uber driver.

The Uber driver, who has not been identified by police, had his own gun and shot the robber, who died on the scene.

The person who was in the passenger seat of the van jumped into the driver’s seat and fled the scene. Police said the Uber driver had a permit to carry his gun and is not expected to face charges.
