Woman Holds Would-Be Burglar At Gunpoint

posted on December 5, 2015

A woman was sitting home alone in Cleveland, Tenn., when she heard the sound of someone trying to break through her front door. She retrieved her handgun and called through the door that she was armed. She then stepped outside and encountered a stranger, whom she ordered to stay where he was. Police arrived on the scene and found the woman holding the suspect at gunpoint.

The would-be burglar was reported by WRCB to have more than 40 arrests on his record. The armed citizen reported that her prior training helped her know what to do: “We went over this when we got my concealed-carry permit, these types of scenarios.” The suspect is currently facing multiple charges.
