New Poll: Americans Recognize NRA’s Positive Influence

If you watch the so-called “mainstream” media’s nearly daily smear campaign against the National Rifle Association—including calling NRA members “terrorists”—you would think the organization was among the most hated in the country. And you would be wrong.

A Rasmussen poll conducted Nov. 30–Dec. 1, asked individuals, “[t]he NRA supports gun policies that make all Americans safer. Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree or strongly disagree with this statement?” A full 61 percent of respondents stated that they agreed with the statement, with over a third of all respondents saying they strongly agreed.

Such high polling numbers illustrate that a majority of Americans see through media depictions of NRA, to the Association’s work on gun policies that empower individuals to provide for the defense of themselves, families, and communities, along with NRA’s programs that educate the public on the safe handling and use of firearms.
