The Moms Take Manhattan

Moms Demand Action staged a march across the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday, agitating for stricter gun laws in New York and making with the odd B-list celebrity appearance. Among the nuggets of “wisdom” on display, we were told, was that “Gun deaths now outpace traffic fatalities in our country.” Another participant proudly reflected that gun laws in the state had gotten “stronger,” before recognizing that yes, guns used in crimes have a tendency to be stolen rather than legally purchased.

It doesn’t seem like New York would be at the top of most anti-gunners’ lists for needing more restrictive gun laws—but then, it’s a little harder to get celebrities to come to your march if you hold it in Arizona or Utah.
