Encore Performance Fails Miserably

posted on September 15, 2015

Dale Harris Jr. had such great success at work the night before that he decided to return to the scene of the crime—literally. Last Thursday night, Harris had broken into a backyard shed in Thibodaux, La., and stolen nearly $1,000 worth of fishing equipment.

Flushed with success and looking to capitalize further, Harris returned the next night to finish the job. Only this time, the homeowner was prepared. Live surveillance alerted the homeowner to the intruder—who then confronted Harris and shot him in the leg. The homeowner then held Harris at the house until police could arrive.

Harris was charged with burglary and was booked into the Lafourche Parish jail. There, he is likely contemplating the folly of pushing his luck a bit too far.
