In a surprising survey conducted across the country, nearly 60 percent of Mexicans said they should be allowed to carry a firearm in their car or at the office for self-defense.
Currently, the Mexican constitution allows citizens to possess a firearm at home, with the exception of certain weapons that are prohibited by law. But with a background of violent attacks and a soaring crime rate, nearly 70 percent of the country’s population believe that having the right to carry outside the home wouldn’t increase danger, but would reduce the threat of armed robbers.
And while close to six out of 10 Mexican citizens think an end to the gun ban would be helpful, nearly the same number of people questioned said they have never owned a gun. However, in the same poll, more than 40 percent said they would buy a gun if allowed to carry it outside the house.
New Brady Gun-Control Campaign Calls 19-Year-Olds “Toddlers”
The Brady Campaign has launched Toddlers Kill, a campaign featuring alarming hype about children and firearms. The sarcastic campaign video features toddlers exclusively with the tagline, “Guns don’t kill people; toddlers kill people.”
However, the Brady Campaign deliberately confuses toddlers with teens up to 19 years old, claiming “2,624 kids and teens die from gun violence” each year. In truth, CDC data shows that only 50 children under age 14 were killed in accidental shootings in 2014; an additional 225 children under 15 were murdered—clearly not accidents. Brady drastically inflates its total by including crime-related murders among 14- to 19-year-olds.
Brady’s Dan Gross admitted, “This isn’t just about toddlers,” the truest statement associated with the campaign. However, “Toddlers Kill” is grossly misleading by any standard, and surfacing less than three days after Hillary Clinton’s bizarre claim that the historic Heller decision was about protecting “toddlers” suggests collusion as well as confusion.
Is The Australian Gun Ban Hillary Celebrates Falling Apart?
Hillary Clinton lauds Australia’s draconian gun ban—a confiscation-under-threat-of-incarceration program disguised as a “buyback” instituted two decades ago. But now Australians are asking hard questions about the effectiveness of the ban, and anti-gunners don’t like the answers.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, admitting that hundreds of thousands have disobeyed the ban, announced a gun amnesty in a desperate attempt to spur compliance. A public row between Turnbull and his predecessor, Tony Abbott, over importation of the Adler lever-action shotgun has drawn attention to the failure of Australia’s ban and renewed the national gun-control debate.
Proponents say the ban has reduced “gun crime,” but manslaughter, sexual assault, kidnapping, armed robbery and unarmed robbery spiked after the ban, and remain at pre-ban levels. The ban had zero effect on Australia’s suicide rate, which is at a 10-year high.
At the same time, violent crime in the U.S. fell 72 percent from 1993 to 2011—all while our country experienced unprecedented growth in gun sales.
Semi-Auto Ban Introduced In Michigan
A package of anti-gun bills introduced on Wednesday in the Michigan Legislature would, among other things, ban the manufacture, possession, sale and transfer of so-called “assault weapons.”
“Assault weapons,” as defined in House Bill 5996, introduced by Democratic state Representative Robert Wittenberg, would encompass the most commonly owned semi-automatic rifles and handguns. The measure also would ban the use of detachable magazines capable of containing more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
As most A1F Daily readers know, semi-automatic rifles, like the AR-15, are the most popular rifles in the United States and are used for home protection, defensive skills-based firearm training and marksmanship competitions. They’re also becoming increasingly popular among hunters.

Gun Sales Continue To Surge Amid Concern Over A Possible Clinton Victory
Americans fearful that their Second Amendment rights could soon be in jeopardy are rushing to their favorite gun shops. The threat of a Hillary Clinton presidential victory has led to sales doubling at some stores.
Despite her debate-day lies that she supports our right to bear arms, Hillary is anything but a Second Amendment supporter. The NRA’s Wayne LaPierre stated just yesterday that she will come for your guns. She’s said as much numerous times in the past, and she’s also promised to use executive orders to further her gun-control agenda.
It’s why you’re now seeing gun stores like one in Las Vegas promoting a “pre-Hillary sale.” Don’t wait, the sign warns, “prices will skyrocket after Crooked Hillary gets in.”
Hyatt Guns in Charlotte, N.C., is also gearing up for “unprecedented business” beginning Nov. 9. “We’re in uncharted territory right now as far as gun sales,” said Hyatt Marketing Director Justin Anderson.
Ohio Woman Credits 2A With Home Invasion’s Happy Ending
An Ohio woman who, along with her husband, held a home intruder at gunpoint until police could arrive is crediting her safety to her Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
According to local media reports, the Akron couple was in their home when a man walked in and started toward their bedroom. The woman’s husband retrieved a gun and pointed it at the man while she called police. She then retrieved her own gun and pointed it at the man from his other side until police arrived.
“This is why gun control is a bad idea,” the woman later posted on Facebook. “We held him at bay until police arrived about 10 after 7. Did anyone die? No. Could anyone have died? Most certainly. Our guns saved our lives today. Responsible gun ownership should never be revoked. If it was, our situation today could have cost both of us our lives.”
