We’ve already seen gun-ban billionaire Michael Bloomberg throw millions into gun-control ballot initiatives in Maine and Nevada—but now that Silver State Second Amendment supporters are fighting back, as Ginny Simone reports, he has set his sights on New Hampshire.
The former New York City mayor has rewarded Democratic New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan for her anti-gun votes with $2 million in ads for her Senate campaign. Now he’s looking to buy a Senate seat for former Sen. Peggy Gilmour by running an ad against her competitor. In true Bloomberg fashion, the 30-second spot just can’t quite seem to tell the truth. It’s full of false and misleading statements, which seem to be the hallmark of Bloomberg-funded groups like Everytown and Moms Demand Action.
In truth, billionaire Bloomberg will say, do or spend whatever is necessary to advance his gun-control agenda. With Hassan and Gilmour, he would have two willing accomplices in the Granite State.
Wikileaks: Clinton Planted Gun-Control Supporters, Planned Anti-Gun Remarks At Town Hall
Correspondence uncovered as part of the Wikileaks Podesta email release shows the Clinton campaign embedded anti-gun activists and planned to push anti-gun talking points at a “town hall” event staged in New Hampshire last year, Breitbart reports.
In preparation for that event at Manchester Community College—just four days after a shooting at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College—the emails offered “talking points” about gun control but cautioned staffers not to tip their hand: “This is not a town hall exclusively about gun violence—it’s just a regular town hall.” Nonetheless, the emails noted, “the person who will introduce [Clinton] will tell a story about gun violence in her life, and there will be people in the audience from gun violence orgs.”
The following week, at another New Hampshire college “town hall,” Clinton said the “Australian example”—where at least 640,000 pump shotguns and semi-automatic rifles were confiscated from lawful people and destroyed—would be “worth considering at the national level” in the United States.
Even At The Global Level, More Guns Do Not Correlate With Higher Crime
Second Amendment advocates and anti-gunners have long disagreed on whether more guns lead to more crime, or less crime. While the data collected within the United States has conclusively pointed to the latter, an Oct. 22 article in The Telegraph aimed to see whether the trend held on a global basis.
The Telegraph compared data from the Small Arms Survey and the 2012 Congressional Research Service Report to create two lists: the 10 countries with the highest gun ownership, and the 10 with the highest number of gun-related deaths. If anti-gunners were right about the relationship between guns and crime, the two lists should have looked identical. However, only one country appears on both lists—Uruguay, which ranked eighth-highest in gun ownership and tenth-highest for firearm-related deaths.
The United States, with the highest per-capita gun ownership by a large margin, didn’t even make the top 10 for gun violence—and as gun ownership has risen, firearm-related deaths have plummeted. The message here is clear, but if anti-gunners haven’t cared about the facts before, why would they start now?
Woman Who Saved Son From Intruder Questions Why Anyone Wouldn’t Own A Gun
Last October, Ashley Mundy was falling asleep with her four-year old son, Braedyn, when they were shaken awake by the sound of shattering glass. Mundy was surprised to find her neighbor, Bruce Jolly, disarming the security system in their Topeka home. Fortunately, she had armed herself with her 9 mm handgun, so she aimed and fired.
Now Mundy is speaking out. She recently told WIBW-TV, “My dad encouraged me to get a conceal and carry, and I just felt that was the thing to do at that moment.” After being shot in the arm and hip, Jolly escaped Mundy’s home, but was apprehended at a neighbor’s house—where police found he was carrying a machete during the invasion.
“He had meth in his system,” Mundy continued. “I worry about Braedyn every day and I can't imagine what he could have witnessed. You don't have to have a conceal and carry to have a gun in your home; why wouldn't you want to protect yourself?
Father Saves Family From Intruder Trying To Torch Home
A Lubbock, Texas, man used his firearm to save his family of six from a fiery death early Sunday morning.
According to local media reports, the family was sleeping when a man broke in the back door and went into the kitchen. One of the kids heard him, and let his parents know. The father quickly armed himself and went to confront the intruder.
“At that point, the father says the suspect told the family to get out of the house as he poured lighter fluid on the floor and attempted to light it on fire,” the police statement stated. “The father says he told the suspect to stop or he would shoot, but the suspect became more agitated and began approaching him until he could no longer back up. The suspect was then shot in the stomach.”
The intruder was taken to a nearby medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
