Armed Pizza Restaurant Employee Stops Robbery

A North Carolina restaurant employee used his legally owned firearm to stop a late-night robbery over the weekend.

According to local media reports, three people tried to rob a Charlotte, N.C., Pizza Hut just before 1:40 a.m. on Sunday. Police said that an employee fired his personal handgun at one of the armed intruders, ending the robbery attempt. 

According to police, one robber died at the scene, and police found the gun he had been carrying when he was shot. No customers were in the restaurant at the time of the attempted robbery.
