Lawsuits Planned Over California’s Proposition 63

Could one of first victories in post-Trump victory America come in California? Chuck Michel of the California Rifle and Pistol Association hopes so.

The Second Amendment attorney plans to file a legal challenge against Proposition 63, the so-called “Gunmaggedon” ballot initiative that passed this week. The measure, which requires background checks for ammunition sales among other things, benefited from the support of wealthy donors.

“With our victory in the presidential election, successful legal challenges will now be filed against all these new ill-conceived and unconstitutional laws,” Michel said, “and those cases will be heard by a new Supreme Court that will see these laws as the Second Amendment violations that they are.”
