Last week, state Sen. Reginald Thomas pre-filed legislation that would allow urban-county governments and consolidated local governments to regulate firearms and ammunition.
BR 172 would open the door to more regulations on law-abiding citizens by creating a confusing patchwork of ordinances and laws, making compliance very difficult and nearly impossible for law abiding citizens. This can easily create a situation where gun owners and sportsmen have difficulty even knowing about certain laws and accidentally becoming ensnared, simply because they have crossed from one municipality to another.
BR 172 will be assigned to committee when the legislature convenes in January. We’ll keep you posted.
Countdown To Election Day
After months and months of contentious campaigning, Election Day dawns tomorrow, with a clear choice for president that will set the future of the Second Amendment for decades to come.
The choice between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton is clear—especially for gun owners. Clinton has said the Supreme Court is “wrong” on the Second Amendment, and vowed to make that case every chance she gets. Trump, on the other hand, supports the Second Amendment, and has vowed to appoint U.S. Supreme Court justices that will uphold the Heller decision.
NRA members and America’s gun owners must do everything in their power to get themselves and like-minded friends and family members to the polls tomorrow and vote freedom first. Let’s make this election a victory for freedom!
Georgia Man Stops Home Invasion
When three men burst into a Clarkston, Ga., home last month in a violent home invasion, only two of the uninvited intruders came out alive.
According to local media, Benjamin Jeffrey Florence, 26, and Tyler Alexander Brown, 21, conspired with 32-year-old Curtis Bernard Turner to break into the home on Parkline Drive.
During the assault, Turner was shot dead by the occupant of the residence.
Florence and Brown were arrested and remain in custody at the DeKalb County Jail. Among other charges, both are also being charged with felony murder in Turner’s death, since it occurred during the commission of a crime they were involved in.
