That was the opinion of National Rifle Association Spokesman Erin Luper when addressing the Tennessee Senate Judiciary Committee, as both the House and Senate consider a measure allowing employees at state colleges and universities to carry guns on campus. The bill’s sponsors, Sen. Mike Bell and Rep. Andy Holt, argue that employees who are permit holders should be able to carry on school grounds with limited exceptions—which include sporting events, disciplinary hearings and hospitals.
