Armed Citizen Helps Stop Terror Attack In Tel Aviv

An armed citizen reportedly shot at least one of the suspected terrorist gunmen involved in a coordinated attack in Tel Aviv, Israel, that left four Israeli civilians dead and at least five others wounded Wednesday night.

Citing CCTV surveillance footage reviewed by Israel’s Channel 10, Fox News reported that two Palestinian terrorists dressed as Hasidic Jews reportedly opened fire at Tel Aviv’s crowded Sarona Market, which CNN described as a “classic soft terrorist target where the potential for harm is quite extreme.”

About 170,000 private citizens have firearm licenses in Israel, according to its Licensing Department. Last year, with “lone wolf” terrorist attacks on the rise in the country, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan eased restrictions on citizens carrying firearms, calling them “a multiplying force for the police in their fight against terrorism.”
