L.A. Bans Magazines That Hold More Than 10 Rounds, Violent Crime Spikes 20 Percent

posted on July 27, 2016

Last year, Los Angeles imposed a ban on possession of ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. So far this year, violent crime in Los Angeles has jumped significantly, Breitbart reports, in a surge of violence that has “police leaders worried.”

The Los Angeles Police Department says aggravated assaults—defined by the FBI as assaults involving weapons and/or injury—have spiked by 20 percent in the city so far this year. In addition, robberies—the taking of property “by fear or force”—are up 16 percent.

Here’s a radical idea: Maybe thugs and robbers of Los Angeles ignore the laws against murder, rape, robbery and the rest just as they ignore the laws that deny their victims the right to have conventional, standard-capacity magazines with which to defend themselves.
