Armed Florida Woman Stops Apartment Break-In

A 19-year-old woman was alone in her Jacksonville, Fla., apartment around 6 p.m. on Wednesday when she heard someone kicking in the door. She grabbed her firearm, and when she saw the suspect, who police identified as 21-year-old Kyle Williams, enter her apartment, she fired a shot, hitting him in the leg. 

Williams immediately fled the apartment complex and jumped into a black vehicle driven by an accomplice. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Williams was arrested and charged with burglary after he sought treatment for a gunshot wound at a local walk-in clinic. 

According to authorities, the victim has been cooperating with the investigation, and was released after being questioned. The driver remains at large.
