Praise The Lord And Pass The Ammo: Pastor’s Wife Shoots Robbery Suspect

posted on September 20, 2016

A Philadelphia pastor is thanking the Lord that his wife was packing her gun last Thursday. Pastor Robert Cook, his wife and their young son were returning home when a man approached carrying what looked to be a rifle. The suspect demanded Cook’s wallet, but the pastor refused, telling investigators, “In some cases the armed person will shoot the victim anyway.”

Cook tried to take the weapon, but told officers, “He hit me hard in the back of the head with the gun.” That’s when Cook’s wife pulled her firearm, yelling, “Drop the gun!” She shot the suspect in the leg before he fled, leaving behind his weapon—a nail gun covered with electrical tape. Police arrested the suspect a short time later.

“When we got our guns, we’re like, ‘We got ‘em but we hope we never use them.’ But ... if it comes down to my family or him, it’s him,” Cook said, adding that he will buy his wife a new firearm since hers is now evidence.
