“The vocal majority of Americans who support change that reduces gun violence need to stand up and speak out,” former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords said in a statement announcing she would be embarking on a pro-gun control tour of 14 battleground states with husband Mark Kelly.

While the two aren’t formally affiliated with Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the “Vocal Majority Tour” will feature rallies, roundtables, voter registration events and press conferences promoting Clinton’s gun-control agenda. And because, like Clinton, Giffords and Kelly would be remiss to let a tragedy go to waste, the tour kicked off today in Orlando—and featured survivors and victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting, along with a handful of anti-gun lawmakers.

“We’re going to do all we can to ensure 2016 is remembered as the tipping point; the year that Americans voted to prevent gun tragedies,” Giffords said. Noticeably absent was any mention of how anything Clinton has proposed would prevent, or even reduce, tragedies—or how there could be a “Vocal Majority” promoting gun control, when poll after poll shows that Americans support the Second Amendment in record numbers.
