Two Invaders Shot, Killed By California Homeowner

It was apparently a home invasion gone wrong. Or right, if you’re the prepared homeowner.

On Monday, Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston told the Oroville Mercury-Register that his department received reports of a man being shot, and then dispatched deputies to investigate. At the scene, they discovered a deceased man in the driveway of the Black Ranch neighborhood, and witnesses said they had also seen two other men race off in a white pickup.

Almost immediately, police received a call saying a man suffering a gunshot wound had entered a nearby gas station and collapsed. The station’s owner said that man, who was later pronounced dead, had arrived in a white pickup with another man, but that the other man had fled on foot. Investigators believe it was all the result of a botched home invasion. Several additional suspects have been detained, and the sheriff’s office believes even more people were involved.
