San Antonio Woman Shoots At Intruder, Sends Him Running

posted on April 27, 2017

Last Tuesday morning, a woman living in a San Antonio, Texas, suburb was busy upstairs when she was suddenly disturbed by noises coming from the first floor. After steeling herself, she headed downstairs—and she took her gun.

SAPD Sgt. Michael Oliva told WOAI-TV that upon entering the kitchen, the woman spied a young man attempting to break in through the back door. She screamed at the man as he kicked in the door and made his way inside—then she had no choice but to shoot. Sgt. Oliva continued, “She shot through the window. She was probably trying to scare him. We checked and there’s no evidence that he was shot.”

The suspect did take off running, however, jumping into a white Mercury Grand Marquis and making a getaway with another man and a woman. Investigators confirmed the intruder was probably not hit by gunfire, as no blood was discovered.
