A new documentary airing on Britain’s Channel 5 reveals that, despite nearly a century of strict gun control, violent crime in England actually appears to be getting worse.

The documentary, called “Inside the Gang,” reveals today’s gang members are even more ruthless than their predecessors. Gangsters as young as 15 brag about shooting others for trespassing, or simply for entertainment’s sake. One, who goes by “Haze,” says he “loves” shooting people, and that the sight of them “scatter[ing], running into houses,” is indescribably exciting. But, he says, “If I can’t catch them, I’m going to their mums, and they’re losing family members.”

Britain’s large supply of illegal guns—estimated at roughly a half-million, despite decades of regulation—make this possible, particularly the influx of WWI and WWII firearms coming from soldiers’ estates. Some of these essentially untraceable weapons are fully automatic. Most can be obtained in just a few hours.

What are law-abiding Britons allowed to possess in order to combat such firepower? Rape whistles.

While Democrats like to portray themselves as the party looking out for the downtrodden, it was Texas Democrats who recently voted against making armed self-defense more accessible to poor citizens of the Lone Star State.

As researcher and author John Lott pointed out in a feature at thehill.com, when a measure came up in the Texas House to substantially lower the fees for firearm carry permits, only 32 percent of Democrats voted both times to lower the fee. At the same time, no Republicans voted against lowering the fee from $140 to $40, which would make permits more accessible to those with limited incomes.

“I have looked at 25 years of data on income, permit fees, training requirements and other regulations,” Lott wrote. “My research examined how these factors affect the number of people with permits. Just an increase of $100, from $40 to $140, would reduce the number of permits by an estimated 50 percent.”

Eric Levitz’s LinkedIn profile says he’s both a journalist and a comedy writer. His latest piece for New York Magazine would fall into the latter category, says Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

In his latest article, titled “ISIS Appreciates the NRA’s Work,” Levitz tried to convince readers that radical Islamic terrorists were the beneficiaries of NRA’s efforts. On Sunday, Meyer set the record straight on Fox News’ "Fox & Friends" show.

“Once again, the media is going out and they’re using their First Amendment to try to go after the Second Amendment by not looking at the facts,” Meyer said. Rather than NRA helping ISIS, the Marine Corps veteran pointed out that it’s actually the other way around. What stands in the way of ISIS being able to come over and do terrorist acts “is the NRA standing there protecting our rights to be able to bear arms and stand up for ourselves,” concludes Meyer.

A man attempting to sell a ring outside the Boulder Station Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., played everything cool. He showed up on time (at 10 p.m. last Thursday), he had the goods—and he brought along his firearm for self-protection.

Laura Meltzer, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police Department, tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the last item turned out to be crucial. As everyone arrived, the prospective buyer showed up with several other people in tow, and that’s when the seller decided to call off the transaction. However, when one of the gang pulled a gun attempting a robbery, the seller had no choice but to grab his own gun and fire.

The robbery suspect and his gang fled the scene, and it was unclear if anyone was hit by gunfire. Investigators confirmed the seller had a concealed weapon permit and acted in self-defense.
