We reported yesterday how an Indianapolis woman used her gun earlier this week to save herself and her children from an armed home intruder. In fact, it was the second such occurrence in the city in just two days.

Now, local media are reporting that gun sales are booming in the wake of such incidents. In a feature posted Thursday under the headline, “More Hoosiers turning to guns for home protection,” Fox59.com reported, “At Tim's Shooting Academy, President Tim Tomich said he's seen a huge increase in people coming in looking to buy guns for home protection.”

“A lot of women coming in. We see a lot of older people coming in,” Tomich told the news channel.

In fact, a similar trend is occurring across the country as more and more Americans realize that their safety is their own responsibility, and the best tool to protect themselves is a responsibly owned firearm.
