We’ve told you before how Brevard County, Fla., Sheriff Wayne Ivey has in the past called for armed citizens to be a first line of defense against attackers. “If you’re a person who is legally licensed to carry a firearm, now is the time more than ever to realize that you, and you alone, may very well be the first line of defense for you and your family,” Ivey said following the 2015 San Bernardino terrorist attack.

Now, following the recent attacks in Europe, Ivey is again calling law-abiding citizens to arms, according to a feature at clickorlando.com. “No matter who you are or what's your position on guns, there's no denying the fact that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun or a knife, is an armed and well-prepared citizen or law enforcement officer,” Ivey recently posted on his Facebook page.

“Folks, now more than ever is the time for our citizens to be prepared to serve as the first line of defense,” he added. “Doing nothing, or just hoping that nothing is going to happen to you, is not going to save your life."
