“We kind of have to tell everyone how smart we are.” U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii

Finally, we learn why anti-gun Democrats have such a hard time connecting with voters: They are just so much smarter than the rest of us.

U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, recently told a conference that Democrats, because of their vast amount of knowledge, have a hard time connecting to Americans’ hearts because they tend to appeal to their brains.

“But we have a really hard time doing that and one of the reasons—it was told to me at one of our retreats—was that we Democrats know so much, that is true,” she said. “And we kind of have to tell everyone how smart we are and so we have a tendency to be very left brain.”

Hirono, who is famous for declaring, “to the men in this country: Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing, for a change” during the recent Senate hearings for Justice Brett Kavanaugh, has never seen an anti-gun proposal that she didn’t like. And she’s just one in a long line of anti-gun Democrat geniuses we’ve reported on over the years. (Right!)

How could we ever argue with folks who have such superior intellects?
