On Tuesday, the California Assembly is scheduled to begin confirmation hearings for U.S. Rep. Xavier Becerra to be California’s next attorney general.

If confirmed, Becerra—rated F by NRA’s Political Victory Fund—would simply be more of the same in replacing rabid anti-gun AG Kamala Harris. In his 23 years as a U.S. representative, Xavier Becerra has consistently voted against your rights when it comes to hunting and Second Amendment-related issues.

It’s important for California’s besieged gun owners that the next attorney general not use the office to further diminish Second Amendment rights. You can learn more about Becerra’s dismal record here.

Use Your Power!

NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action encourages all California gun owners to contact their state assembly member and ask them to oppose Xavier Becerra’s confirmation as California attorney general. You can do so by clicking here.

When President Donald Trump (R) signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB) into law on July 4, 2025, he scheduled the end of the burdensome $200 excise tax imposed on suppressors, short-barreled firearms and “any other weapons” as defined by the National Firearms Act (NFA). That end came on January 1.

Armed Citizens are the “Rugged Individualists” Mamdani Despises

In his inauguration speech as the new mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani said, behind his characteristically easy smile, “We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.”
