Harvey Weinstein, the powerful Hollywood producer who donated to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and crusaded against the Second Amendment, has been fired by The Weinstein Company after The New York Times published a series of sexual harassment allegations made against him by women he worked with, including actress Ashley Judd.

Many of Weinstein's friends and political fellow travelers haven’t been eager to call attention to his sins. “Saturday Night Live” reportedly tested some jokes about the incident, but cut them before performance. Creator Lorne Michaels seemingly ascribed the decision to Weinstein’s New York origins, although that has hardly stopped the show from going after President Donald Trump week after week.

Weinstein has a long history of rage directed toward the NRA. “They’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them,” he claimed about an anti-gun film starring Meryl Streep that he was planning to make at one point. Now the statement that he released apologizing for his predatory behavior towards women promised, “I am going to need a place to channel that anger, so I’ve decided that I’m going to give the NRA my full attention.” We’ll be waiting, Harvey!
