Las Vegas is a funny town, providing the rare ability to strike it rich or break the bank, both within minutes of each other. And like many towns, there are those ready to prey on others, whether their money came from the casinos or hard work.

But there’s one less predator after an armed robbery attempt this weekend. A man and woman were exiting their car at their apartment near Tropicana Avenue when three men—one armed with a gun—attempted to take the woman’s purse. Unbeknownst to the assailants, the victims didn’t intend to go down without a fight.

The driver pulled his own gun, and shot and killed the armed suspect, prompting the other two men to leave the scene. The incident remains under investigation, but according to police, witnesses have confirmed the sequence of events.
