Armed Oklahoma Mother Saves Children From Knife-Wielding Boyfriend

posted on October 20, 2015

28-year-old Francis, Okla., mother Danielle McWethy was at home with her two children and her boyfriend, 33-year-old Oscar Darnell James Foreman, Friday morning when a dispute broke out. At around 7:30, while McWethy and Foreman were arguing, Foreman reportedly went into the kitchen and grabbed a large knife. He then kicked McWethy’s 9-year-old son in the head before shoving her 11-year-old daughter against a wall and threatening to use the knife to cut her. McWethy retrieved a 9 mm handgun and shot Foreman twice, eliminating the threat to her children. Foreman was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

While Pontotoc County Sheriff John Christian cautions the incident is still under investigation, he said that the case appears to be justifiable homicide. So far, no charges have been filed.
