Armed Son Stops Home Intruder

posted on April 14, 2016

A man broke into a Bessemer, Ala., home on Sunday afternoon, only to later find himself staring down the business end of a handgun.

According to local police, the man kicked in the door of the house around 3:30 in the afternoon. Unfortunately for the crook, the homeowner’s son, who lives nearby, saw him kick in the door, grabbed a gun and followed the intruder into the house. “He ordered the offender out of the residence and told him to (lie) on the ground,” a spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said. “This is where deputies found him when they arrived.”

Authorities later booked the intruder into Jefferson County Jail on charges of burglary, attempted burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, and theft and criminal mischief.
