When a Killeen, Texas, resident heard loud banging and glass shattering late last Tuesday night, he immediately grabbed his gun. And it was a good thing he did.

According to report in the Killeen Daily Herald, the homeowner ran toward his front door, where someone was attempting to forcefully enter the home. The homeowner then fired several shots toward the door as the suspect tried to break in.

Shortly after the incident, a suspect in the attempted break-in arrived at a nearby medical center suffering from gunshot wounds. Three accomplices were later arrested and are being held pending charges.
