It’s not hard to see how ignorant many in the so-called “mainstream” media are about all things pertaining to guns and gun owners.

Now the frustration of that fact is being voiced by popular author Stephen Hunter. Hunter, a former Baltimore Sun and Washington Post reporter, created the character of former Marine sniper Bob Lee Swagger, now at the center of the popular USA Network series, “Shooter.”

“Among the elite media, there’s more gun ignorance, more gun stupidity, more gun hysteria, more gun ‘screwballness’ than ever,” Hunter was quoted as saying at libertyparkpress.com. “To some degree that’s counteracted by the fact that given the democratic reality of the internet, there are far more voices than there once were.”

Truer words were never spoken. But is anyone out there in the “mainstream” media even listening?
