In a snarky op-ed posted yesterday at WesternHerald.com titled “Opinion: The NRA has a persecution complex,” Carla Zorilla ridiculed NRA media properties for attempting to “paint themselves … as a persecuted group themselves.” And her timing was perfect.

Just last week, PressTV published a headline placing the blame for so-called “gun violence”—actually violent crime perpetrated by violent criminals—on the law-abiding members of the NRA. The headline read: “U.S. gun lobby responsible for gun violence: Analyst.”

Ironically, Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton recently vowed to target NRA members the very first day in office if elected president. “I really support everything President Obama said he would do through regulation on guns but we’re going to start the very first day and tackle the gun lobby (read, the NRA) to try to reduce the outrageous number of people who are dying from gun violence in our country,” Clinton said.

But according to Zorilla, there’s nothing to see here; just move along.
