Ironically, the story went on to document only two domestic violence murders with firearms in Vermont the year discussed—not exactly what one would think when seeing the term “ugly and often lethal” in the subhead.

I’m dead-set against it because anybody who can carry a gun legally on campus can snap at any time.” — University of Texas-El Paso journalism professor David Smith-Soto, vowing to break the state’s new campus carry law by not allowing guns in his classroom when the law takes effect next year.
“No taxpayer in America should have to foot the bill for a profit-focused lobby looking to improve its public image.” — Statement by the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence concerning a federal grant to the National Shooting Sports Foundation for gun locks and safety training, proving the group cares only about gun bans, not gun safety.
