Colorado Company Offers Free AR-15 With Roof Replacement

posted on August 5, 2016

It’s a fact of life—if you want to protect your home from the elements, you’ll eventually need to replace your roof. Now one company, Castle Rock, Colo.-area Weatherproof Roofing and Exteriors, is making that process a little less painful by offering another form of home protection—a free AR-15. The promotion, which lasts until Oct. 1, also offers a choice of a handgun, self-defense shotgun or $500 gift certificate to Cabela’s.

When asked why they chose the AR-15 as the basis for its promotion, the company explained, “It symbolizes, at our core, who we are: true American patriots. … Just like the AR-15 we’re promoting, our roofs were built for Americans, by Americans.”

While the promotion has been criticized by anti-gunners, the company emphasizes that it promotes safe firearm ownership and encourages gun owners to enroll in a training class. And of course, every eligible firearm recipient will be required to pass an NICS check.
