We told you earlier in the week how conservative columnist Stacy Washington had been suspended by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for daring to call out a columnist for The Missourian over a hate-filled rant comparing the National Rifle Association to ISIS.

Now, Washington has resigned her columnist position with the newspaper.

“It’s absolutely ludicrous to me that being openly supportive of the Second Amendment calls into question what I wrote on Friday,” Washington told the Riverfront Times. “It just doesn’t comport. This is just not a thing. I just don’t understand it.”

In truth, Washington’s assertion that it was out of line for The Missourian author to compare NRA to ISIS was a reasonable one. The fact that the Post-Dispatch editors don’t understand that says more about them than about her.

Stay tuned for Stacy Washington’s full report on the situation, which will appear here at A1F Daily on Monday morning.
