The Washington Post’s owner, Jeff Bezos, announced that the newspaper’s opinion section is taking a turn away from woke propaganda and could be heading to the center.

“I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages,” Bezos wrote on X. “We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.”

So, one of the two pillars they’ll be defending is “personal liberties” and “opposing” views will be left out of the opinion pages?

I can’t help putting a question mark on this claim, as this would mean the Post would have to suddenly not only become pro-Second Amendment, but they’d also have to leave all the gun-control propaganda out of their opinion section.

Nothing is more anti-personal liberty than gun-control restrictions—gun bans are clearly aimed squarely at law-abiding citizens, not the lawless.

“I am of America and for America, and proud to be so,” wrote Bezos. “Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical—it minimizes coercion—and practical—it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity.”

Again, “everywhere else” must include our right to keep and bear arms.

Bezos also said he asked the Post’s editorial page editor, David Shipley, to make this change, but if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” that he should say, “No.” Shipley resigned.

It is hard to imagine this change taking place if the American people had not voted to return President Donald Trump (R) to the White House. A major course correction is underway with President Trump and those in his administration leading the way.

We’ll watch to see if any pro-Second Amendment opinion pieces make it into the Post’s opinion section. Hell, maybe we’ll contribute something to the Post’s opinion section on all the D.C. residents and more who desperately need the government to get out of the way of their right to keep and bear arms. If so, we’ll publish a link or, more likely, their rejection letter.
