It was the perfect prescription for a robbery: A good guy with a gun.

A person wearing a ski mask and waving a gun entered a Waynesboro, Penn., pharmacy last Monday evening. He wanted drugs and money. But then the suspect's behavior was so violent and aggressive it caused an employee to take action, in fear for the lives of everyone in the store.

That’s when the employee drew his legally owned handgun and fired four rounds at the criminal, striking and injuring him. Another person inside the Antietam Pharmacy was able to subdue the robber until officers arrived. Police Chief Jim Soubier said, “Antietam Pharmacy has been the subject of armed robbery before. They know the drill. They know how to behave. I know these folks.”

The suspect was airlifted to a nearby trauma center, where he no doubt got a few of the drugs he was attempting to steal.

When President Donald Trump (R) signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB) into law on July 4, 2025, he scheduled the end of the burdensome $200 excise tax imposed on suppressors, short-barreled firearms and “any other weapons” as defined by the National Firearms Act (NFA). That end came on January 1.
