A robbery attempt early Tuesday morning in Detroit went badly for the alleged armed robber, thanks to the intended victim having a firearm and knowing how to use it.

A man had gone to a gas station window to buy cigarettes when another man, who had been hiding in a bus booth at the corner, approached with a gun and tried to rob the victim.

“He (the suspect) was dressed all in black and wearing a black hoodie,” the store clerk told local media. “Outside, he went up to my customer and pulled a gun on him. My customer said he didn’t have any money, then he pulled out his gun. He was faster and shot the guy.” The armed suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
