It would be ridiculous for anyone to believe Kamala Harris’ (D) claim that she is “in favor” of the Second Amendment, but it says a lot that she is trying to deceive.

It would be just as nonsensical for voters to buy the claim from Harris that Donald Trump (R) would “terminate the Constitution of the United States.” But that is what she said.

When Trump was president, he gave us three U.S. Supreme Court Justices who have interpreted U.S. Constitution as it is written and amended. Also, during his first administration, Trump gave us 54 judges for the U.S. courts of appeals and 174 judges for U.S. district courts.

Whereas for the last four years the Biden-Harris administration has been accusing law-abiding gun owners of being responsible for rising crime rates as Biden nominated many judges and one U.S. Supreme Court justice who do not believe that the Second Amendment means what it says.

Indeed, the Supreme Court, thanks in part to Trump’s three picks, gave us two huge victories for freedom since 2016: New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen and NRA v. Vullo. The first said that yes, indeed, our freedom extends outside of our homes. The other (a unanimous decision, mind you) ruled that the NRA does have the First Amendment right to speak freely.

But this legal bulwark for our Second Amendment rights has been weakened by Biden nominations to the courts and Harris would continue to fill the courts with people whose mission is to destroy our Second Amendment-protected freedom.

The Biden-Harris administration also created a gun-control office in the White House, set its agencies against our freedom and loudly declared they want to ban and confiscate law-abiding citizens’ guns.

As her actual record is extreme and unpopular, Harris has been hiding from her own record and has even been accusing her opponent of what she actually is on the record supporting.

“Kamala just claimed that President Trump will take away the 1st amendment and 2nd amendment,” said the Trump “War Room” on X. “Her administration censored people who criticized their covid policies — She is on camera multiple times saying she wants gun confiscation. What a joke.”

Harris’ true record on our freedom is not difficult to find:

  • Biden actually put Harris in charge of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which was created by the Biden administration in 2023 and staffed with activists from gun-control groups.
  • Harris’ campaign website says if she is elected, she will try to “ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, require universal background checks, and support red flag laws that keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people.”
  • Though Harris is now saying she is a Second Amendment advocate, as San Francisco’s district attorney, she supported a total ban on handgun ownership.
  • During the U.S. Supreme Court’s consideration of the Heller case, Harris supported a handgun ban in Washington, D.C. Also, during the Heller case, she endorsed an amicus brief arguing the Second Amendment doesn’t protect an individual right to own firearms.
  • As California’s attorney general, she reduced the state’s handgun roster, effectively making most Glock pistols—she says she owns one of these—made after 2009 illegal for ordinary citizens to purchase.
  • In October 2019, Harris said she supported a mandatory gun “buyback” program, but in her September debate with Trump, she said, “We’re not taking anybody’s guns away, so stop with the continuous lying about this stuff.”

If the mainstream media were actually interested in journalism, the Harris campaign would be forced to be much more careful with their spin.

Cynical Strategies To Subvert The Protection Of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act

Since President George W. Bush signed the bipartisan Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) into law on Oct. 26, 2005, those bent on civilian disarmament have sought to bypass the legislation’s clear commands. In fact, 20 years later, gunmakers were fending off a frivolous nuisance suit from the city of Gary, Ind., filed in 1999, despite the PLCAA and state-analogue legislation.

President’s Column | NRA Focus On The Vision

I can’t believe it’s been seven months since I was elected NRA president, and I’m already composing my eighth President’s Column. The officers never fully anticipated or appreciated the immense challenges we faced when elected.

Standing Guard | The NRA is Strong

The strength of the NRA is, and has always been, our membership. Without our millions of members, we would not be able to effectively rally behind elections for pro-freedom politicians; just as importantly, if not for our large membership, our representatives in office would not feel the same urgency to listen to us in this constitutional republic.
