Federal Ammunition celebrates its 100-year anniversary today, having opened its doors as a fledgling factory in Anoka, Minn., a century ago.

Federal Ammunition is showcasing and celebrating the company’s rich history on its website as part of its 100-year celebration. Included are articles, images, videos and other interactive materials that detail the company’s humble roots to its modern-day manufacturing.

“For months we’ve been counting down to Federal Ammunition’s 100-year anniversary,” said Brian Anderson, Federal’s director of marketing. “Now that the big day has finally arrived, we’re celebrating with a site takeover of federalpremium.com, sharing the stories, products and special moments that made Federal the world’s leading ammunition manufacturer.”

Federal will be uploading content focusing on the company’s storied history each month throughout the remainder of the year. Additionally, the company has released a 244-page book, titled Federal Ammunition: The First Hundred Years, detailing the past century of work Federal has done.

“Initially, the site will feature exclusive videos that take viewers on a tour of the iconic plant, commemorate the anniversary and much more,” said Anderson. “There’s also an interactive timeline that highlights some of the most influential and interesting moments in company history. Visitors can scroll through a slideshow of vintage posters, enter to win big prizes, and learn the full story of Federal’s earliest years. Look for more articles, seldom-seen photography and other exclusive content added regularly throughout Federal’s centennial year.”

The company also recently released four commemorative shotshell packages. In its earliest years, Federal’s shotshells were the backbone of the company’s lineup. “If you are a collector of hunting products or a fan of Federal Ammunition, you will want to make sure to add some anniversary-edition shotshell packages to your collection,” said Rick Stoeckel, Federal’s product director of shotshell ammunition. “Not only do these classic designs point back to the rich history of Federal Ammunition, but they will also look great on any display shelf or can be taken to the trap range.”

Federal is also offering retro packaging for some centerfire rifle and handgun products to celebrate its 100-year anniversary.
