Arkansas and the firearm manufacturing industry are both benefitting from the pro-gun environment in the state, with more than 130 new jobs to be added by Remington Outdoor Co. and SIG Sauer. The two companies announced the added jobs from the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas on Thursday, to which Gov. Asa Hutchinson responded on a video announcement on social media, “We have a gun-friendly state that loves the industry.”

According to a report by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Forbes magazine ranks Arkansas as America’s third most gun-friendly state. The National Shooting Sports Foundation “Firearms and Ammunition Industry Economic Impact Report 2014” calculated 2,650 firearms industry jobs in Arkansas in 2014, with total wages of $145 million—up from 2,398 jobs in 2013.
