A homeless woman in Gainesville, Fla., used her gun to defend herself against a man who was attacking her at a campsite.

According to local media reports, the woman called 911 last Thursday evening, and the dispatcher heard her yelling, “Get off of me,” before she was disconnected. When the dispatcher called back, the woman answered and said she had shot someone who was attacking her.

When they arrived at the scene, police said they found the woman and the man who had attacked her. Police say the woman’s injuries were defensive and that they believe she acted in self-defense.
