Florida Robber Unsuccessfully Brings Knife To Gun Fight

posted on April 7, 2016

An attempted armed robbery in Lauderhill, Fla., on Sunday again proved the old adage, “Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.”

According to Lauderhill Police, 35-year-old Andy Louis Willis walked up to a Port Orange man sitting in his pickup around 9 p.m. on Sunday, put a knife to his throat and demanded the gold chain from the victim’s neck. Rather than hand over the chain, the man pulled a gun and pointed it at the robber, prompting Willis to run away.

Willis was later arrested and charged with armed robbery.
