Sometimes an ex just doesn’t understand when it’s time to move on. At 5:30 a.m. last Friday, Henry Johnson forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in Pensacola, Fla., and began striking her. However, police say the woman was prepared and struck back—with her firearm.

PPD Public Information Officer Mike Wood told WEAR-TV that as Johnson attacked, the woman “feared for her safety and shot him.” The 32-year-old man was hit once in the leg and surrendered to police shortly after they arrived at the scene. Wood told reporters that Johnson was treated at a local hospital but is now behind bars without bail, facing both burglary and battery charges.
