Georgia Senate Candidate Laughs at Thought of Armed Parishioners

U.S. Senate candidate Raphael Warnock (D) laughed at the idea of churchgoers being armed, during one of his sermons.

“Somebody decided that they had a bright idea to pass a piece of legislation that will allow for guns and concealed weapons to be carried in churches. Have you ever been to a church meeting? That’s the last place,” said Warnock before laughing with his congregation.

A recent ad from the NRA shows Warnock’s misguided view for what it is; a complete disregard for reality. Warnock is a pastor who doesn’t seem to understand the nature of evil. The NRA ad clearly shows this, and also features comments from two men, Jack Wilson and Stephen Willeford; good guys with guns who stopped murderers at churches. If not for the intervention of these two brave men, it’s frightening to imagine what further harm the murderous individuals would’ve inflicted upon the innocent civilians they were preying on.

Wilson, in particular, was able to neutralize a threat—in a church—within seconds of the murderer opening fire. Wilson also was not the only armed member of the parish to draw his firearm. The other armed parishioners simply didn’t have a clear line of fire on the murderer, so they didn’t shoot.

The idea of everyday Americans practicing their rights is unfathomable to the likes of Warnock and opponents of our freedom. To them, the idea of taking your safety—and the safety of those around you—into your own hands just doesn’t fit into their ideology.

Wilson and Willeford would tell you otherwise. In reality, “gun-free zones” are zones that leave law-abiding citizens disarmed, and exposed to the actions of criminals who blatantly disregard laws and human life. By having a vigilant and armed populace, criminals are deterred from committing further atrocities, whereas “gun-free zones” simply invite murderers to carry out their evil acts.

As previously reported by America’s 1st Freedom, “There is no such thing as a ‘gun-free zone.’ There are zones in which people are permitted to defend themselves, and zones in which they are not. Picking which is preferable is a no-brainer.”

Warnock’s opponent, Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R), is a staunch supporter of your right to keep and bear arms. “The Second Amendment is our Founding Fathers’ reaffirmation of our natural, God-given right to defend life, liberty, and property. Law-abiding citizens should be free to exercise their Second Amendment rights without overly intrusive government regulation,” said Loeffler in a statement earlier this year.

Georgians need to make sure that they make the right choice in the runoff election on Jan. 5.
