Giffords-Backed Group Pours Money Into Virginia Campaigns

The Second Amendment battleground is spreading to Virginia, where the Washington Post reports that Americans for Responsible Solutions, the gun-control organization founded by former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly, is focusing its efforts. The group is planning to spend $600,000 on three Senate races this year. 

Richard H. Black is one of the senators whom Americans for Responsible Solutions intends to unseat. “I really don’t think the money they’re spending is going to affect any races at all,” he said. “Virginia has a pretty comprehensive set of rules dealing with firearms, and people understand that if you’re going to have a safe community, you’re going to have citizens who have the right to keep and bear arms.”
