In an editorial published at thehill.com, researcher John Lott draws attention to the duplicitous behavior of the leaders on the Women’s March, who were guarded by private armed security while protesting against the NRA. He points out that the media is predictably unwilling to hold the anti-gun protestors accountable for their hypocritical actions.

Lott lists a number of anti-gun activists and politicians, along with sympathetic figures in the media, who have relied on firearms to protect them while campaigning to keep them out of the hands of law-abiding citizens. Michael Bloomberg and former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley make the list, as well as David Brock of Media Matters and celebrity pundit Rosie O’Donnell.

“All too often gun control advocates really do understand the safety benefits of gun ownership—when it comes to their protecting their own personal safety,” Lott concluded. “Remember that the next time you see them calling for gun-free zones as a way to protect people.”
