California Attorney General Kamala Harris, a candidate for U.S. Senate, pulled a page out of a well-worn playbook when speaking in Los Angeles on Friday. She criticized Congress for failing to pass gun-control legislation after Sandy Hook and suggested that, “They should have closed the chambers of Congress, on the House and the Senate side, and said all you members go in there, only you, and spread out the autopsy photos of those babies and require them to look at those photographs. And then vote your conscience.”

For those unfamiliar with the anti-gun left’s playbook, Harris’ tactic is key principle No. 1: Always focus on emotions. But Harris is selective in what photos should be viewed. She doesn’t mention Carol Bowne or any of the innocent victims who were unable to get guns for self-defense, thanks to gun-control laws already in place. Apparently, those victims are just another inconvenient truth.
